Back from Vegas....

Nakapag-impose ako ng protocol na rigid namang sinusunod ni Popsie - prayer and thanksgiving, meditation, nutrition, pagbilad sa araw at deep breathing exercise, on top of the regular one. Wala pang isang linggo after the surgery ay nakapagsimba na syang muli at another week after inihatid na ako sa airport. He lost weight, siguro dahil diyeneta ko. A friend from TACF (the church I go to) called tonight, nakakarelieve din knowing that Spirit-filled sisters in Christ like her are supporting us in continued prayers. God is good, He will bring about complete healing on Popsie either through a process or instantaneous miracle - that I believe!

Heto na naman ako, back in Toronto, in my usual daily old and malungkot na grind - *hikab*....Oo nga pala, crush ko yung surgeon, si Dr. Kropek (real name withheld to protect his identity, pero sounds like it ang name). Muka syang late thirties, guwaping at super bait.

After Sunday church. First weekend ko. Pre-surgery pa ni Popsicle.

Lunch at McDonalds, no choice, yun ang gusto nung dalawang kids. Sarap sana sa buffet. Anyway, Popsie could only have caesar's salad with chicken and no sugar iced tea. Kami, syempre yung masarap na punong-puno ng transfats...he he.

Kami ng kids and their mom, enjoy sa Prada movie.

Meryenda muna.

Family picture sa harap ng Red Rock.

Off to Whole Foods. Alang choice eh, mahal talaga ang holistic approach to nutrition, kelangan whole foods and organic as much as possible for Popsie, lalo na yung ingredients ng vegetable juice.

She's only ten, pero matangkad na.

"Tita, I will be a model someday".....Pwede talaga, galeng magposing, walang direk direk yan, automatic sa kanya, makaps din ang muks kahit maraming tao, posing sya. Very smart tong pamangkin kong to, super bilis magprocess ng information, retentive at grabe ang bokabularyo. Confident din, sabi sa akon, "tita, a lot of people like me coz I'm pretty and smart." He he....talk about konpidens ha!

Flaxseed oil thoroughly mixed with organic cottage cheese or goat's milk yoghurt. Papu, in action post-surgery.

We had a good laugh, I gave Popsie a semestral test on how to assemble the juicer I bought and brought from Toronto. He's now making his own juices, kakapagod daw.

Pasyal sa Fashion Mall along the Strip.

Pagdating sa mommy nya, in a really frustrated voice yelled, "you're not even looking for your own mother!"

Oo na I gained almost 10 lbs. dun. Hay, yoyo dieter when will you quit?

Paalis na naman si ako, trying to be brave and pull a stoic face. Sa loob-loob humihikbi.

At the end of the travail, she asked "so what do I get for carrying this really heavy luggage all the way here?" As usual, Popsie had to pull a dollar bill from his worn wallet...:).

Such is life...:).

Viva Las Vegas!

All set to go tomorrow (Friday), see y'all in two weeks! And bid me "vaya con Dio!

Not looking forward to using the dollar store bath products at my parents place (kurips po sila). And not looking forward sa inspeksyon na katakot-takot (hands up na naman ako parati nyan, pero me ideya ako, no kili-kili and foot deodorant ako bukas para mapabilis ang proseso...wehehehehe), note to self: wak ka dala butas salumpwet at gutay-gutay na salungsuso at kakahiya pag dinespley.

Anyway, please pray for my Pop's full recovery after a smooth and safe surgery! Thanks!

There must be something about July.....

Found this interesting exchange from a Q and A forum on the net (was trying to prove I'm normal - errrr...currently listening to Oh Little Town of Bethlehem):

Q. Do you listen to Christmas songs in the middle of summer?

A.
I do!
Currently Listening:
Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time
The Beatles

Patrick M

A. You know, usually along about July, I get a great longing to hear Christmas carols and find myself playing them then. I like the old old songs of Christmas, and the English and European choirs.

M. LeMas

There you go, I'm amongst the weirds not weird afterall and hmmmmmm...there must be something 'bout July...

Christmas songs like a splash of cold refreshing water on a parched and weary summertime soul?
